hey mom!
camera onesie by Egg + Avocado

I get asked ALL the time where I get Jasper's clothes. When I was pregnant I always said that if we have a boy I would dress him like Josh dresses. It's been kind of tricky but I'm not one to shy away from a challenge.

striped pocketed onesie from BabyGap

At the risk of sounding like a snob I'm going to come right out and say that I am not a fan of Carter's clothing. They are EVERYWHERE. Every single onesie has some sort of patch, embellishment, something extra on it... Sorry but I do not like the shirts that say things like "Daddy's Little Hero".

black onesie by American Apparel

So basically I look for simple shirts and pants that are solid or patterned colors. I buy most of his clothes on sale at BabyGap or Old Navy. I got him quite a few solid color onesies from American Apparel (really like those). A random shirt here or a splurge on something I found online...that's what makes up his wardrobe. For awhile there I was taking a lot of pictures of his outfits so most of these were when it was cooler out.

bottom left to right: jeans - Old Navy, hoodie - Kumquat; pants - Old Navy, shirt - American Apparel; onesie - Threadless, long sleeve onesie - American Apparel, jeans - Old Navy;

So yeah, the kid dresses pretty snazzy. We always get compliments about what he's wearing. Maybe I should strive to dress as well as my son.

Jasper is definitely one stylin' kid. I think it's cool that he has a unique wardrobe and not one that is as common/mass produced. :)
he does look so cute all the time! you're good at that. i love the little baby wardrobe remix-style shots. :) david mostly wears all the stuff we get as gifts (lots of carters), but his threadless onesies are my favorites.
Yeah I always dress Jasper in clothes he gets as gifts. Most of the Carter's stuff stopped at 3 months.
I have a really hard time finding cute NON pink clothes for Lucy. Don't get me wrong, I love the color pink, but after a while you get really sick of it. Also, it seems like there are so many "bug" clothes for girls. Cute yes, but I get tired of them. I will have to check out some of the companies you mentioned to see if I can find some less "girly" things.
Jess, I'll have to send you an email with some links. Check out American Apparel though for some good simple onesies. We love those and you can get non-girly colors!
Cute, cute, cute...Can you only get American Apparel clothing online or is that a brand you can find at a specific store?
I bought the American Apparel clothes online: www.americanapparel.com since there aren't any stores around here.

about me

I'm 29 and live in central Illinois. I've been married to an amazing man for four and a half years. We have a little white dog and bought our first house in 2008. We added a new member to our family in October 2008. Jasper is made of marshmallows and awesome. I am lucky enough to stay at home with him. He makes us laugh everyday. I also have my own photography business called Knight Light. We also do what we can to be a little more eco-friendly.
