about me

I'm 28 and live in central Illinois. I've been married to an amazing man for three years. We have a little white dog and just bought our first house! We are also expecting our first child in October. I LOVE design and photography. I'm busy getting my own business up and going. We also do what we can to be a little more eco-friendly.

plants in the yard

Wednesday, April 30, 2008

When we first closed on the house last Monday, I had no idea what any of the plants in our yard were. All I knew is that someday I would have a lilac bush, some peonies, a flowering tree and flowers for the front. Through the course of last week, the plants started to grow a bit more and even bloom. Turns out I already have pretty much everything I wanted!

I was so excited I could hardly stand it!! I can't believe I got so lucky. All that's left is to pull out some bushes in the front so I can plant some flowers. Hopefully I have a green thumb!

Ooo, YOUR lilacs look so pretty. They have bloomed a lot just since I saw them on Saturday. Just wait until the peonies start to bloom, I can smell them now.
See, God knew what He was doing when He picked this house for you, Knights!! :)

I am jealous of your lilacs. My big lilac bush died 2 years ago. You are going to LOVE your peonies so much! I have one of those as well and they are just gorgeous.

I am so happy for you and your pretty plants!
You lucky lucky girl!!

I want to have lilacs, roses, dogwoods, and lots and lots of Hydrangea bushes and peonies!!

And if you buy the May issue of Martha Stewart Living, there's a whole article in it about taking care of peonies. Good Stuff.
