about me

I'm 28 and live in central Illinois. I've been married to an amazing man for three years. We have a little white dog and just bought our first house! We are also expecting our first child in October. I LOVE design and photography. I'm busy getting my own business up and going. We also do what we can to be a little more eco-friendly.

little vacation

flowers in a teapot

Josh and I decided last night that we need to take a little vacation. Nothing major like passports are needed... Just somewhere that we can go away for a few days and do nothing. We've both been feeling a little worn down lately. I told Josh that I think we can still plan and save for a house while taking a small vacation. Now it's just picking some place semi-close and perfect. Hmm...

or galena IL is supposed to be nice
I told Tommy not too long ago that I wanted to go somewhere. He asked where. I told him I didn't really care I just wanted to get away even for a weekend. I hope you guys can come up with something fun to do!
Come to Ohio! ;)

But seconding the Amish Country idea, Jeremy and I (and his parents as well) always pick Amish country as a weekend getaway. We live only 2-3 hours from Ohio's Amish country and it is perfect for getting away. Rolling hills, a cabin overlooking a pond, tons of shops to explore, and oh, the baked goods! YUM! The cabin we love is stocked with books and a CD player and a nice big jacuzzi tub and it is like heaven on earth. The woman always has fresh baked goods waiting for us, a personalized card with our name on it, and she leaves a guestbook/journal out so we can journal our thoughts/feelings while there, and then the journals remain for other guests to look back on and see where everyone came from.

Highly recommend that sort of thing. I also hear great things about Door County, Wisconsin.
I've heard good things about Door County too. I was also thinking about Lake Geneva in Wisconsin.
That is a fantastic idea!!!!! Even if you are saving money, you should have a little vacation now and then!! I would suggest the beautiful beach of California, but dang(!) it is way too stinking expensive out here!!

Honestly, just being somewhere besides your own home is a vacation!!!

Have SOOO much fun and take LOTS of pictures!!!

(Wow. So many exclamation points! hee hee hee)
If you're planning to visit Door County or Lake Geneva, do it before Memorial Day - both places get pretty busy (and less quiet) during the summertime.

Have a great time, whenever (and wherever) you go.
