about me

I'm 28 and live in central Illinois. I've been married to an amazing man for three years. We have a little white dog and just bought our first house! We are also expecting our first child in October. I LOVE design and photography. I'm busy getting my own business up and going. We also do what we can to be a little more eco-friendly.

wishin' everyday was saturday

Monday, December 03, 2007

Any plans that Josh and I had made for Saturday were covered in a quarter inch layer of ice. Since we were stuck at home all day, I used it as best I could. Normally if I'm home with nothing to do, I have pictures to work on. (And even if I choose not to work on them, I still feel guilty.) I had absolutely no pictures left to work on so I made cookies...lots of them.

today i baked

Josh was my official taste tester and dishwasher. He's always willing to help me. I made peanut butter blossoms, snickerdoodles, chocolate chip cookies and white chocolate dipped oreos. When they were all done I boxed them up for our family.

On Saturday I also addressed our Christmas cards, wrapped a couple more Christmas gifts, watched Christmas Vacation and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. And for the first time in months, I got out yarn and crocheted. First I had to sort through my massive stash. Clearly I have a problem...

It was a good day and the first Saturday in a long time that felt like a break and that I got to do whatever I wanted. Looking forward to a few more of those days this month!

Cooking, Crafts, & Christmas...What a fantastic day!!
And here I thought my mom had a ridiculous stash...
I will admit that some of that yarn was given to me. And the balls of yarn are leftovers from other projects. I can't seem to thrown yarn away. You never know when you might need it, right?
Ahhh!
Everything looks so good.
Can we have some of those Oreos at our party?
Where did you get the boxes and dividers for packaging the cookies? I'm hoping to do something like this for Christmas and thought the way you did it looked perfect.
adriel, I just bought simple white boxes that came in packs of two. They were called handkerchief boxes. For the dividers, I cut two pieces of cardstock to fit the inside. I made a slit in the middle of the two pieces and then fit them together. I used parchment paper for the bottom. Hope that made sense!
It makes perfect sense. Thank you and happy holidays!
