pretentious much?
Thursday, December 13, 2007The barista at Starbucks finished my drink and called out "Double tall nonfat half peppermint white chocolate mocha with no whip". I quickly grabbed my drink and pretended like a just ordered a coffee. Labels: coffee talk
"The whole purpose of places like Starbucks is for people with no decision-making ability whatsoever to make six decisions just to buy one cup of coffee. Short, tall, light, dark, caf, decaf, low-fat, non-fat... So people who don't know what the hell they're doing or who on earth they are can, for only $2.95, get not just a cup of coffee but an absolutely defining sense of self: Tall. Decaf. Cappuccino." -You've Got Mail

I love that quote from YGM. It's so on the mark.
And I can't believe they call out what you got...at the Starbucks I frequent they just say, "Abbey, your order is up."
