about me

I'm 28 and live in central Illinois. I've been married to an amazing man for three years. We have a little white dog and just bought our first house! We are also expecting our first child in October. I LOVE design and photography. I'm busy getting my own business up and going. We also do what we can to be a little more eco-friendly.

pretentious much?

Thursday, December 13, 2007

The barista at Starbucks finished my drink and called out "Double tall nonfat half peppermint white chocolate mocha with no whip". I quickly grabbed my drink and pretended like a just ordered a coffee.

"The whole purpose of places like Starbucks is for people with no decision-making ability whatsoever to make six decisions just to buy one cup of coffee. Short, tall, light, dark, caf, decaf, low-fat, non-fat... So people who don't know what the hell they're doing or who on earth they are can, for only $2.95, get not just a cup of coffee but an absolutely defining sense of self: Tall. Decaf. Cappuccino." -You've Got Mail

And I thought my usual summer order - "triple grande upside down iced caramel macchiato" - was high maintenance. ;)

I love that quote from YGM. It's so on the mark.
Love me some You've Got Mail!!

And I can't believe they call out what you got...at the Starbucks I frequent they just say, "Abbey, your order is up."
