about me

I'm 28 and live in central Illinois. I've been married to an amazing man for three years. We have a little white dog and just bought our first house! We are also expecting our first child in October. I LOVE design and photography. I'm busy getting my own business up and going. We also do what we can to be a little more eco-friendly.

playing

Sometimes during a shoot I snap a picture like this that for some reason I really like. I don't know what it is about this one but I just keep going back to it. It's not technically fantastic, the lighting is kind of weird...but there's something. Maybe the way that her left foot is in the air, or her arm is up almost to keep her balance... Maybe it is the weird lighting and shadows...

It's usually the candid random snaps that I usually appreciate the most. It has frozen this little girl at three years old. It's pictures like this that keep me wanting more.

I love this picture! I think it's a combo of the lighting and the little girls body movements. It just makes it such a precious childhood moment...and pictures that can capture that are always magical.
I think it's because you captured her essence that makes it a good photograph. Everything about the image says what it's like to be a 3 year old.
Makes me kinda wish I could run off like a three year old!
Yes to what everyone else said. Even if you aren't 100% pleased with it 'technically', this is an example of what true photography is about. Capturing the moment. I like the path she is on here. It kind of makes me (the overthinker) wonder about this little girl's life and the journey she is going to take as she rounds the bend in her cute and carefree way. This would be a great photo for her parents to display on a table at her graduation party. ;)
