about me

I'm 28 and live in central Illinois. I've been married to an amazing man for three years. We have a little white dog and just bought our first house! We are also expecting our first child in October. I LOVE design and photography. I'm busy getting my own business up and going. We also do what we can to be a little more eco-friendly.

old friends

I don't know if it was the double shot of espresso in my latte or the time I spent with my friend Emily but I drove home tonight feeling so inspired. We talked a lot about photography and I just really feel like I'm supposed to develop my couples portfolio. We talked about me doing some pictures of Emily and her husband. I just feel like I have loads of ideas for cool couples shots. So I drove home talking a mile a minute to Josh on my cell phone. I decided that I'm going to do as many pictures of couples I know to expand that portion of my portfolio. I already have some specific ideas for my brother and his girlfriend and they don't even know that they're going to be models for me. I want to take pictures by old buildings, in alleys, by brick walls...my list could go on and on...

I have been addicted to this song by Hellogoodbye called "Oh, It is Love". I think that has inspired me as well. Anyway, I'm excited to start on this. I think I could just keep rambling about this. This is me hopped up on caffiene, feeling really tired but very I.N.S.P.I.R.E.D. It's a good feeling. More to come...

Oh! You should get Jami and Scottimer to do it!!!

They never got wedding pics - something happened...i forget what...and they just had their anniversary =)
You can always take pictures of your bestest friend and her hubby. I'm thinking cowboy hats, old fences, country music playing in the background... Well, maybe scratch the music.
Stick, great idea... I'll have to ask Dr. H and Jami.

Jess, definitely scratch the country music and you've got a deal. I'm thinking fall and changing leaves for you guys.
That is so awesome. It's definitely the best way to build your portfolio -- just offer to take pictures of people you know for free (if they want prints, they could buy them if you want).

I think it would be a waste of talent if you didn't explore your photography!

Speaking of which, I found my notes from that seminar, so I will type those up this weekend for ya. :)
Thanks, Eunice!
Kimberly,

That is awesome, I am glad you are so inspired.

I don't know if I have already referred you to this site, but one of my very favorite photographers is Kelly McCord. Her photography site is: http://rossandkel.typepad.com/kelly_mccord_photo_blog/

She has a real unique and artistic eye, much like many of the shots you have taken. You may enjoy admiring her work! :)

Sorry if I have mentioned her before. I don't remember.
I did it!
I finally updated...now to just keep doing it!
