about me

I'm 28 and live in central Illinois. I've been married to an amazing man for three years. We have a little white dog and just bought our first house! We are also expecting our first child in October. I LOVE design and photography. I'm busy getting my own business up and going. We also do what we can to be a little more eco-friendly.

Who is this metal mouth? (Click the picture to see the face.)

Yes, that's right...it's me. I now have a tin grin, tinsel teeth, train tracks... A few months ago Josh and I started talking about the braces thing. I guess I've wanted them as long as I can remember. Lately I've started feeling even more self-concious about my overbite. (I never post pictures of me from the side because of it!) We started doing some figuring. It came down to the fact that if I didn't do it now...I never would. Once we have a house and little kiddos, I would never want to spend that much money on my teeth. Josh pretty much decided one day that I was getting them. I argued because well, it's a lot of money. He said, "Love, you're getting braces." Empathize the period. So here I am...

I went this morning. It was pretty uncomfortable getting them put on but not so bad. I'm hoping that I'm not in a lot of pain tonight. Bottoms go on in a couple months. Two teeth have to be extracted in the coming month... It feels really weird right now but Josh says it's cute so that's all that matters.

Congratulations, however long overdue. I'm also an adult in braces. I hope to get them off this summer, but that remains to be seen. I'm happy I did it though, no matter the cost. I just feel so much better about having a nice smile, even if I'm still braced, my teeth are looking great and better than they did when I didn't have braces. Hope you have lots of success on yours too!
